Sometimes we can feel stuck, trapped, and maybe even lost, as if we are in a forest and cannot find our way out. We think back over our lives and recognize past experiences that we cannot come to shake and begin to recognize symptoms within ourselves of depression and anxiety. Sometimes these experiences accrue over time and sometimes things can happen suddenly, perhaps triggered by a particularly significant life change or transition. Often these feelings of being stuck, trapped, or lost can cause us to turn to sources of respite that may feel helpful in the short term to ease the worst of these experiences, but tend to make our sense of feeling lost or stuck even worse over time. For many of us what we need is someone to walk alongside us in the forest. Someone who will listen to what we have been through, what we are going through and to help us find the way to where we are trying to go. Counseling provides this opportunity. I have both been lost in the forest and have been helped by those who have chosen counseling as their profession. I can speak personally to the healing power of connecting with someone who will walk alongside you until you are ready to finish the journey out of the forest on your own. If you are finding yourself in this place I would like to help.

I am married with two daughters. We have a cat and a dog. As a family we love sports, good stories, good food and good music. After 12 years working in media and advertising, I decided to go back to school to pursue a Master’s degree in counseling and change professions to follow a call to help. I am particularly interested in working with people ages 19 and up who are struggling with substance use, addiction, depression, and anxiety.

If you are feeling stuck or lost, I hope that you will consider giving me a call.
