Patrick Norton, ALC, NCC
Patrick has enjoyed living and working in the mental health field in Birmingham, AL since 2013. After obtaining a BS in Psychology from the University of Alabama, he acquired his Master’s in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then obtained an additional graduate certificate in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from UAB. Other certifications include Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and completion of Gottman Level 1 Couples Therapy training. His internship and subsequent training has included play therapy and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Patrick is currently under supervision by Hallie Keel, LPC-S, RPT-S, to complete independent licensure, and also works at Glenwood, Inc. as an Outpatient Therapist helping children and families with emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns.
Patrick is especially passionate about providing mental health care to adolescents, young adults, professionals, parents, and couples. He has a specific interest in providing care to individuals and couples in the medical field. His wife is an OB/Gyn resident at UAB, which has provided a unique perspective regarding the distinct challenges facing individuals and families in medical professions.
Outside of counseling, Patrick enjoys woodworking, video games, drumming, and spending time with his wife at the lake.
